Already over 20-25 inches of snow have fallen on the city. As the snow continues, the Mayor’s number one priority is to keep on top of the snow plowing so first responders can access the streets. Phases I and II of the Snow Emergency Plan are now in effect in Baltimore City. This means that all vehicles traveling on city roadways must be equipped with snow tires, all weather radials or chains. In addition, parking is prohibited along designated Snow Emergency Routes. Below is a list of contact numbers, should you need assistance during this weather event. Before you visit the store for extra batteries, water or food, ask if you can get something for them as well. The city has increased shelter capacity for those who need it. People needing shelter can go to the main city shelter at 210 Guilford Avenue. Residents are urged to listen to radio and television for updates.
