did so very, very much for today's party. You guys have a lot to be proud of --- you doubled last year's attendance numbers and made sure that everyone who was there had a terrific time. Chairman of the Block Party Committee and WNIA Vice President John Reuter. John did such and incredible amount of work for this party --- I couldn't begin to list it all from permitting to grillmastering to running uptown, downtown and all around town for supplies, permits and beyond. I can't exaggerate his efforts. And oh those homemade apple pies! Yum! and SPECIAL THANKS to: Phyllis Kepner for doing ALL the kids crafts, face painting and donating the supplies, too! Happy birthday, Miss Phyllis and THANK YOU! Joe Kepner for helping Phyllis with everything and setting up with us. John Devlin who did a ton of setting up the morning-of and COOKING --- a cheerful grillmaster! ALL DAY! Dave Nottlemann, who made committee meetings and who did a ton of setup and breakdown and helping the day-of. Lacy, too! Thanks, girl! Joyce Miksa for setup and breakdown and beermeistering! Kathleen Moyers for spending her day on the "door" greeting folks --- all 109 visitors, also putting up signs and planning committee! Derek Tidwell who provided the TUNES! for the day and made all the committee meetings. Carol Orlando whose church, St. Luke's, generously donated their tables and chairs for the day. Thank you, Pastor Lisa! Laura Steadman who helped garner and hosted the street permits, beer permits and PortaPotty! (She'll kill me for this note!) Mike Hilliard from HARBEL and Lisa Daniels from the North Harford Association for coming out with the NECOP car and setting up a table. --- ALL DAY! Your community has so many resources and dedicated people! Baltimore City Fire Department for their terrific truck and friendly personnel's visit. Major Dickson of the BPD Northeastern District for attending and keeping Mike Hilliard company (Major's day at Westfield!) and greeting everyone as they came in. The Baltimore Police Department's Explorers Youth Program sent 5 great volunteers commanded by Officer Rebecca Ward. They went out and door knocked to roust up attendees and tout their program. There was a lot of pitching in for clean-up: Maureen Healy, Jamie and Mark, Joyce, "the Johns", Derek, Phyllis and Joe Kepner, Meg Gorkewicz, --- oh I know I am sooooo not listing everyone! Meg Gorkiewicz for donating her Cornhole game for the day... we never did to a tournament, but great fun was had by all! I am sure I have missed people who deserve kudos. I know I have, I know I have! Please add them to the Message Board where this message will also post! Folks made treats from Deviled eggs (Maureen Healy and Nancy Witzel), to brownies and cakes (Laurie DeWitt) and more and more. Folks donated food and time. |
